Do I have to be a healthcare provider to take this course? NO. The fundamental difference between the Healthcare Provider Course and the Heartsaver CPR Course (layman CPR) is assessing for a pulse. 

Who is this course for: For anyone who wants to learn or required (Typically for EMT, Medical Assistant, CNA, LVN, RN, Physician, PA, Psychiatric Technician, Dentist, Dental Assistant, Dental Hygenist, Pharmacist, Pharmacy Tech, Occupational Therapist)

Do not take this course if: You are a Daycare Provider, Preschool teacher or a bus driver. If so, please take our Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course.

Online option: Alternatively you have the option of completing the 1.5 hour online course followed by the 1-hour skills session. To schedule a skills session click on the 'classes' tab on the right and choose the skills session of the desired location.

Continuing Education Units (CEU's): four hours of CEU's will be awarded only if you sign in on the CEU roster at the time of class while providing your license number. CEU's cannot be given after class. The following qualify to receive CEU's: Physicians, RN, EMT, Paramedic, Occuptional Therapists and assistants, Dental licenses, CNA's, CMA's, LVN's, Psychiatric Technicians, Pharmacy personnel, PT's and Physical Therapy Assistants.

I don't see a class that fits my schedule. You can take a look at our Santa Maria (34 miles) schedule or you can take the online option as stated above. 

Do I need to purchase a textbook before coming to class? No, everything is provided for you on the day of the course.

Compressions, Airway and Breathing techniques

Use of the BVM (Bag Valve Mask) to ventilate

Use of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator)

One and two-rescuer CPR

Adult, child and infant CPR techniques

Is the entire course online? No. The cognitive portion is online followed by a skills session with a live instructor. After clicking register you will choose a course date and time for your skills session appointment. 

Who should take this course? The Healthcare Provider Online Course is for anyone who has previously taken the Healthcare Provider Course before. This course is not for an intial certification. 

Is the certification card the same as if I took the entire course with an instructor? YES

How does it work? The online course is sent within 24 hours of us receiving your payment. The online course will take about 1.5 hours to complete. Once you complete you must fill out the 10 question survey. Only once the survey is completed can you print your certificate of completion. Bring your certificate of completion with you at the date and time you chose for your skills session.

What is the refund policy for online courses? There are no refunds! Unfortunately we are unable to assign your online course to someone else.

Is the certification card the same as if I were to take the instructor led course: Yes, identical.

How long does it take to complete the online course: 3 hours

There are different pathways (Heartsaver total, babysitter, etc) which do I choose? Choose the "Heartsaver Total" pathway. It is the most comprehensive and most employers will not accept anything else.

Is there any mandatory precourse material? Yes, the American Heart Association ACLS Precourse Self-Assessment the link for which will be emailed to you. 

How can I prepare for the course? Read the textbook. Or, if you prefer a more interacitive approach, you can purchase Zero to Hero's ACLS Preparatory Course. It will instruct and test you on Heartblocks, ECG rhythms, Pharmacology, Full-length Megacode and written exam practice. 

Is there a textbook? Yes, sold separatly is the 200 page ACLS textbook with updated AHA 2020 guidelines.

Can everyone take the online course? Initial certification needs to take the classroom version. Even if expired you can still take the online course.

What is the ACLS Prep Course? This will help you feel prepared for your megacode. Has megacode practice scenarios, ECG rhythm identification practice and heart block identification. Also goes over pharmacology. You can purchase by adding to your shopping cart below

How do I prepare for the megacode? If you prefer an interacitive approach you can purchase Zero to Hero's ACLS Preparatory Course. It iwill instruct and test you on ECG rhythms, Pharmacology and Full-length Megacode.
